“Acıbadem Sports”, the first and only holder of a FIFA Medical Center of Excellence certificate in Türkiye since 2012, is a sports health center built on 4.500 square meters adjacent to Acıbadem Fulya, a full-fledged hospital in Istanbul, the intersection of Asia and Europe.
Bringing new talents to Turkish Sports in the long term, talent selection analyses are carried out for all child and young athletes within all sports schools, federations, Olympic preparation centers, and youth teams, both to assess their suitability for their current branches and to direct them to new branches as appropriate. The unit is working on another major project to generate a gene profile for Turkish athletes. The project intends to track all performance data and investigate the compatibility of athletes’ genetic profiles with their competition data in the medium term, and to use the outcomes to construct talent selection protocols in the long term.
